On Tuesday, Mr. M.O.T.W. and I both had the day off, and had arranged to go out for lunch with a couple of friends. However, when they cancelled on us at the last minute, we decided that we didn't want to miss out on a yummy lunchtime feast, and after some deliberation we decided to head to Lorenzo's, my favourite Spanish tapas restaurant. I've been going here for years, and it has always been the eatery of choice when meeting up with friends for girly lunches and dinners.
We walked into town, which wasn't the most pleasant of experiences given the unpredictable (mostly cold, windy and rainy) weather conditions. We still haven't got a car to drive, as although it is sitting waiting to be insured, there isn't anywhere to park near my sister's flat without a permit, so we're holding off until we move into our own place at the end of the month. Luckily, it's only a ten-minute walk or so into town, but even so, we did arrive at the restaurant looking somewhat bedraggled!
I can never decide on just one dish when we go to Lorenzo's, as everything on the menu just sounds so delicious. I usually end up roping whoever I'm with into sharing with me so that I can dig into more than one option, and that's exactly what we did this time. We went for spicy chorizo quesadillas, baked yellow peppers stuffed with savoury rice and goat's cheese, and mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce. Suffice to say, it was all insanely good and we scoffed almost the whole lot! It was really nice to see that, years on, the food is still just as good as it always was, and the Mr. was definitely suitably impressed, so I'm sure we'll be back before long.
