Pretty flowers in my parents' garden
Hi everyone, it's been a little while, hasn't it? Two weeks, to be precise, neither of which were planned, and both of which were pretty much unavoidable. As most of you are aware, things have been a bit up in the air for me of late, as we were staying with my husband's family for a couple of weeks before moving back to the UK, and since our arrival we've been holed up at first my parents' and now my sister's place, living out of suitcases all the way! I did have posts scheduled up until our arrival back on English soil, and I was naive enough to think that from then onwards, I would be able to get back to regular blogging, but inevitably my time has been taken up with job and flat-hunting, not to mention catching up with friends and family and enjoying the beautiful sunshine we've been having before it disappears behind a rain cloud for the rest of the year.
It's been a real pleasure getting to know my hometown again after living elsewhere for the past eight years, and an absolute treat living so close to the most important people in my life again. I feel so lucky that the sun has been so forthcoming these past couple of weeks, as it has given me the perfect opportunity to introduce my husband to some of the loveliest beauty spots in the south west. Something I haven't enjoyed, however, is putting together job applications - I really don't remember it ever being such a tedious affair in the past, but alas, rewriting my personal statement time and time again in order to tailor it to different jobs is far from fun. Still, it has more or less paid off, as I have been offered two jobs, and an interview for a third, so I can't really grumble. The job I really want though, is of course the one I have heard nothing back about, but good things come to those who wait, so I will just keep telling myself that and crossing my fingers!
As for living arrangements, we are in my sister's spare room for the next three weeks, as although we've now found a place to nest, we've got to wait until the beginning of October to actually move in. Not ideal, but it'll be worth it in the end - it's a lovely place, and given that the landlady is my best friend's mother, I'm pretty pleased with the whole arrangement.
While I haven't been able to post up until now, that most certainly does not mean that I've forgotten about my blog - on the contrary, I've been getting rather snap-happy since we've been back, and as a result I've got lots to share with you over the next couple of weeks. I'm thrilled to finally have some good material and pretty photos for lifestyle posts, so there will be plenty of those coming up over the next couple of weeks as well as a variety of fashion and beauty haul posts (well, what did you expect!?) and some reviews of the products I picked up in duty free at the airport.
Hope everyone has been enjoying the last of the summer weather, and I'm looking forward to catching up with you all.
